Abstract:

The following paper deals with service learning and social entrepreneurship, which were used as teaching-learning methods to motivate students on finding solutions to social problems, regardless of whether in social or vocational areas. This concept was used in the seminar Professionalization in the master’s degree course Lifelong Learning and Media Literacy in which students gain a wide variety of competences regarding their vocational field and their future career. The integration of open educational resources, especially a massive open online course (mooc), was used to support and organize the learning and to inform students about certain business techniques, which are essential for the realization of their projects. Due to the fact that students provide special social projects for society or for the world of work such a course concept can be defined as service learning.
