I believe this was Mr. Moore's debut novel back in the day. I only now read it after having found his talents.
A man has a demon sidekick he does not want. It's been seventy long years. Travis hates that Catch needs to eat people - he tries steering him toward criminals and the homeless.
The characters all converge in the small town of Pine Cove. Travis, the demon, a woman who believes Catch is a benign Earth spirit, a drunk and his estranged wife, a gruff business owner and his own new sidekick who's a type of genie. And Mavis!
This is a fun story, probably a little scattered for some tastes, but I'm surely going to attack the Christopher Moore collection like a crazed demon.
