Philippians by Joyce Meyer is a biblical study on the book of Philippians in the Bible. She walks you through the entire book, providing context and some historical background that a new reader might not be familiar with. Joyce breaks down the book of Philippians into smaller sections and provides small lessons for each one.

For reference, Philippians is a letter written by the Apostle Paul to the city of Philippi. The letter/book can be found towards the end of the Bible. It was a letter of encouragement and guidance to the new believers in the city. The practical insights shared then are still valuable to us today.

Joyce gives the reader many questions to ponder and provides an area in each chapter to write in the answers. My favorite chapter in this book is towards the end. For Philippians 4:8-9, Paul mentions seven qualities we should think about at all times. She goes onto describe each quality, cross-references it with other scriptures, and shares how we can apply it to our lives. Joyce also shares personal stories and real-life examples.

I felt like I had Joyce next to me from the first time I picked up the book. I would recommend this book to someone familiar with the book of Philippians, but has never read it completely. Also, to anyone interested in understanding basic Christian principals.
